Maiya Balboa took up Fine Arts major in Advertising Arts in the College of Fine Arts & Design of the University of Santo Tomas, Manila. After several semifinalist mentions in the Metrobank Art & Design Excellence National Competition Oil/Acrylic Painting Category, she won first place for her Papier-Mache Sculpture designs.
